The color of your car may make a huge difference. If what comes out of one tube is a near perfect match you might be alright. Trying to replicate my Gold Mist Metallic paint color by mixing beige and silver was the best I could come up with. It now looks like a dull bondo patch job, much worse than if I hadn't done anything to the scuff marks on my bumper. The liquid rub-on claims that it shines...coulda fooled me and it did. I'll try the WD40 removal trick. (that worked) Guess it's off to the body shop after all.

I managed to get a slight scratch on my two week old Blue Subaru Legacy 3.6R. I thought I'd give this a try. The scratch is very light. You can feel it with your finger nail but it pretty much just went through the clear coat. It's not to the metal or even the primer. The line is about 8" long and white against the blue colour. I've tried Mequires scratch remover and a few other mild fixes but it still looked white. The blue colour in this kit matches almost exactly. I followed the directions but you can still see the line just not as much, it's still there just not white so it's helped some I guess. For the price I wasn't expecting miracles I suppose.

I 'tagged' a pole when backing out of a parking lot a couple of months back. My vehicle is older and I didn't want to spend a lot of money fixing the rear bumper but still wanted the car to look a bit better. I researched the products available on Amazon through customer reviews for something that might help and came across this product. I had good expectations in using this item but I didn't have a happy ending. When applying the first compound (colored paste), I had a difficult time manipulating the material smoothly over the body surface. The instructions mentioned an 'applicator tool' which wasn't in the package nor could I find a listing for it as an accessory on Amazon. The picture I saw of the tool reminded me of a credit card so I sacrificed an old card I hadn't used in a number of years to assist me. I waited 24 hours as the package instructed for the material to dry before proceeding the the next step. Stage two entailed applying a creme paste which is supposed to remove excess material (which was applied in step 1) and polish the surface. The cream didn't seem to do anything. I rubbed and rubbed to no avail. The resulting finish on the car resembled icing on cake (like un-sanded body filler). It looked awful. I came to the realization that I just need to get the product off the car any way I could. I first tried a paint scratch removing compound which didn't help. Then I figured I might need to use a petroleum-based substance in my next attempt. I sprayed WD-40 on the surface and rubbed with a towel. It started to come off but very slowly. I finally ended up using straight gasoline, a towel, and about two hours of my time scrubbing it off. Needless to say, this was a terrible experience.

I bought this for a 2004 blue Saturn VUE because my children scratched the side of the car trying to get their bikes out of the garage. The scratch was a good three feet+ across the drivers side. I stared at it long enough and went looking around town for something to cover it. Nothing worked since the scratch was down to the metal. I was searching on Amazon and happed up on this product thought I'd give it a try since it was under $10. After receiving I used the blue tube, rubbed the blue paste on the scratch(es) then buffed off, afterwards I used the shine gel/paste. Viola the scratch(es) is barely noticable. For families with kids that keep bumping and scratching their cars (as well as the people who don't care in parking lots) and you want the car to look decent while driving around town, this product is great! Good Luck.
